Ruth Duffy is making ends meet with her assistant’s pay at an expensive girls’ school in Manhattan, having overcome the challenges and hardships of her youth. Meanwhile, Jonny Collins is taking on various jobs around the Throgs Neck Bridge in the Bronx. When their paths cross again after many years, Jonny becomes as infatuated with Ruth as he was during their high school years, and he re-enters her life with intentions of both romance and personal gain.
