The Snail and the Whale

This half-hour animated film, suitable for the entire family, is inspired by the beloved book authored by Julia Donaldson and illustrated by Axel Scheffler. “The Snail and the Whale” is a cherished classic that tells the story of an adventurous young snail with dreams of exploring the globe. Despite the other snails’ advice to remain in place, she sends out a request for a “Lift wanted around the world.” Her plea is eventually answered by a massive grey-blue humpback whale, who takes her on a journey across the oceans. Together, they encounter towering icebergs, distant lands, fiery volcanoes, and golden beaches. The snail is thrilled by the magnificent world she sees, until she begins to feel overwhelmed by her own smallness in it.
