The Shape of Water

Set against the backdrop of the Cold War era in America, this film tells the story of Elisa, a mute woman working as a janitor in a high-security government laboratory. Her life changes when she discovers a mysterious, scaled creature being held captive in the facility. As an unconventional bond forms between them, Elisa devises a daring plan to help the creature escape. Directed by Guillermo del Toro, the film stars Sally Hawkins, Michael Shannon, and Octavia Spencer. It received critical acclaim and won the Academy Award for Best Picture in 2018.
