This documentary captures the evolution of L.A.’s “Best in Drag Show,” an event dedicated to supporting the Alliance for Housing and Healing. Originally conceived in 1990 as an impromptu parody of Miss America by a group of friends in a small West Hollywood apartment, it has since transformed into the city’s longest-standing drag charity event. Featuring appearances by top-tier actors, the show has entertained thousands and raised over $6 million for individuals affected by HIV/AIDS. Through a blend of humor and emotion, director John Carlos Frey guides us on a poignant exploration of queer life and activism from the 1990s to the present day.
