The Life of Guskou Budori

This reimagining of “The Life of Guskou Budori” from 1994 tells the story of a young man named Guskou, set in the Tohoku forests of northeastern Japan during the 1920s. Faced with a series of droughts and natural calamities, Guskou is compelled to abandon his home in pursuit of a more promising future. He becomes part of a team of scientists at the Ihatov Volcano Department, an organization that addresses the very natural disasters that forced him to leave his homeland.
