The Last Samurai

Set in the late 19th century, this film follows the journey of Captain Nathan Algren, played by Tom Cruise, a disillusioned American military officer hired to train Japan’s first modern, Western-style army. As he becomes immersed in the culture of the samurai, Algren finds himself torn between two worlds and questioning his own values.
