The Hitcher

In this 1986 thriller directed by Robert Harmon, a young man named Jim Halsey, played by C. Thomas Howell, picks up a hitchhiker who turns out to be a psychopathic killer, portrayed chillingly by Rutger Hauer. As Jim tries to escape the relentless pursuit of the hitchhiker, he finds himself entangled in a deadly game of cat and mouse across the desolate highways.
