Stand Clear of the Closing Doors

When autistic teenager Ricky is reprimanded for missing school, he embarks on a multi-day adventure through the subway, mingling with its diverse inhabitants. At the same time, his mother intensifies her search for him above ground. Inspired by real events and set in Far Rockaway, Queens, just before Hurricane Sandy, these intertwined narratives of mother and son offer a poignant exploration of community and connection both in the heart of New York City and beneath its surface.
