Sonny Boy

Waldemar Nods, a young Surinamese man, encounters Rika van der Lans, an older Dutch woman, and they develop a romantic relationship. In the Netherlands before World War II, their differences are stark: he is black, she is white, there is a 17-year age gap, and Rika is already a mother of four from a previous relationship. Despite these challenges, they are in love, but their situation becomes more complicated when Rika discovers she is expecting a child.
