Slow Learners

High school guidance counselor Jeff and his platonic colleague Anne are responsible, well-meaning, and kind, but also quite dull. They watch in frustration as their friends find love and companionship, while they continue to fail spectacularly in the romance department. Reaching the breaking point of their loneliness, they decide to abandon their usual, bland personas and embrace their untapped, confident alter egos. They bid farewell to Jeff’s awkward all-male book club and Anne’s unsuccessful attempts to attract Jeff’s attractive neighbor Max, and dive into wild summer nights filled with alcohol, dancing, and intimacy. Naturally, things don’t go exactly as planned.
