Serpentine Pink
Set against the bizarre and wild backdrop of Joshua Tree, California, “Serpentine Pink” is a uniquely intense and surreal independent film with a strong focus on female experiences. It explores the challenging journey of healing a heart wounded by trauma. Drawing inspiration from the horror theatre style of France’s Grand Guignol, the film employs both visual and verbal poetic language to depict the eerie beauty of the Mojave landscape and its sounds. The story centers on a solitary biker woman and her exotic dancer lover, who is fixated on John Wayne, as they grapple with the unsettling aftermath of a brutal acid attack. An otherworldly psychic and her companion, an aspiring healer, join forces with supernatural elements to confront and mend the profound personal pain of the women, as well as their own, as they strive to escape the cycle of possessive love.
