China, IL

“China, IL,” short for “China, Illinois,” is an animated show airing on Adult Swim. Created by Brad Neely, the series brings to life characters from Neely’s previous web series and special, including Frank and Steve Smith, known as “The Professor Brothers,” and Mark “Baby” Cakes. Neely himself voices all three characters. The show is produced by Williams Street and animated by Titmouse, Inc. It has been picked up for a second season, with plans to extend each episode to a half-hour format.

On May 25, 2008, Adult Swim broadcasted an 11-minute special titled “The Funeral,” which was also available on the now-closed Super Deluxe website. This special merged Neely’s “Professor Brothers” and “Baby Cakes” web series, creating a broader setting for the characters. Both the special and Neely’s other works can be found on his YouTube channel.
