Serial Killers: The Bone Yard

Charles Ng, now on death row for committing eleven heinous murders, was initially apprehended alongside Leonard Lake for shoplifting in San Francisco. While Ng managed to escape, Lake was taken to the police station, where he implicated Ng as his partner in crime before dramatically ending his own life by ingesting cyanide capsules hidden on his lapel. The police were taken aback by Lake’s sudden suicide, but the discovery of a .22 caliber pistol with a silencer in his vehicle suggested involvement in more serious crimes than mere shoplifting. The situation escalated when the car’s registered owner was found to be on a list of missing persons. A subsequent search of their residence revealed possessions belonging to several missing individuals.
