Rocket Power: Race Across New Zealand
“Race Across New Zealand” was the inaugural telefilm in the Rocket Power animated series trilogy, premiering on Nickelodeon in the United States on February 16, 2002, coinciding with the 2002 Winter Olympics. The storyline follows the Rocket Power crew as they journey to New Zealand to take part in “The Junior Waikikamukau Games.” Otto Rocket faces off against the son of an athlete who had previously defeated his father, Ray, in a New Zealand race, allegedly through dishonest means. Meanwhile, Otto’s sister, Reggie, strives to gain recognition from Ray, who seems to focus his support solely on Otto. The telefilm showcases sports such as zorbing, mountain biking, tubing, dirtboarding, windsurfing, and snowboarding.
