Preparation for the Next Life

Aishe, a Uyghur woman with a military upbringing from her father, relocates to New York City and ends up working in the hidden kitchens of Chinatown. There, she meets Skinner, a young American soldier recently back from three deployments in the Middle East. As they fall in love, they realize they might have a chance at a more fulfilling life together than the solitary paths they had anticipated.
