As dawn arrives on the eighth floor of a suburban Lisbon neighborhood, 14-year-old Bruno faces the reality that his grandfather remains hospitalized, with doctors predicting only a few days left for him. The looming presence of death and the emptiness it will create compel Bruno to step up as the man of the household, where he resides with his mother, Mónica, who is in her 30s, and his three-year-old sister, Érica.
