Here and There

“Here and There” (Serbian: Tamo i ovde) is a Serbian movie that debuted at the Belgrade Film Festival FEST in 2009. The film weaves together two related narratives set on different continents. In one story, Robert (played by Thornton), a disheartened New Yorker, seeks to earn some quick money but ends up in Serbia, where he discovers a deeper sense of self rather than financial gain. Meanwhile, on the other side of the world, Branko (portrayed by Trifunović), a young Serbian immigrant, faces challenges in the harsh environment of New York City as he strives to bring his girlfriend from Serbia to the U.S. Mirijana Karanović features as Branko’s mother.
