In 1941 Manchuria, Tung Fei (Jackson Liu Hsiu-hsien), a collaborator with the Japanese, finds himself in a dire situation after being discovered in bed with the mistress of a Japanese major. In a desperate act, he kills the major and escapes. Exhausted from his long journey on horseback, Tung collapses and later regains consciousness to discover that he has been taken in by a hunter named Suen (Dick Wei) and his daughter, Ironic (Hsu).
