Grigris

Set in Chad, this film follows the story of a young man named Souleymane, known as Grigris, who dreams of becoming a professional dancer despite having a paralyzed leg. His life takes a dramatic turn when he becomes entangled in the dangerous world of oil smuggling to pay for his stepfather’s medical bills. Directed by Mahamat-Saleh Haroun, the film was nominated for the Palme d’Or at the 2013 Cannes Film Festival. The movie features standout performances by Souleymane Démé and Anaïs Monory.
