When Tsanko Petrov, a railway employee, discovers a fortune in lev along the train tracks, he chooses to hand the entire sum over to the authorities. In appreciation, the government presents him with a new wristwatch, which quickly malfunctions. At the same time, Julia Staikova, the Ministry of Transport’s PR chief, misplaces his old watch. This marks the beginning of Petrov’s determined fight to reclaim not just his old watch, but also his self-respect.
