Set against the backdrop of World War II, “Casino Tycoon” follows the journey of Benny, a recent graduate portrayed by Andy Lau, who escapes from Hong Kong during the Japanese occupation and makes his way to the gambling paradise of Macau. In Macau, he catches the eye of a local entrepreneur with connections to organized crime.
