“DIE EXPATS” delves into themes of love, loss, desire, identity, and contemporary relationships. The narrative follows four individuals striving to rediscover their sense of self while maneuvering through the complex, intertwined environment they inhabit. As this environment starts to close in on them, they come to understand that the only escape is to scrutinize their own motives and be prepared to release the past and each other. There’s a common belief that people come to Berlin to find what they desire; however, for this group, the city becomes a source of disillusionment. In the process of identifying what they don’t want, Vivian, Nate, Sienna, and Andreas may finally reveal what they genuinely need.
