Boston police officer Pally finds himself pushed into early retirement, which puts pressure on his marriage. In an effort to cheer him up, Pally’s stepbrother Ray shares a tip about a racehorse that’s guaranteed to win. However, their plans to acquire the winning horse are derailed when a local mob boss seizes it to settle a gambling debt. With their money at risk, Pally and Ray find themselves caught up in a dangerous world of crime and murder.
