Cupcakes

In a suburb of Tel Aviv, a circle of friends convenes to watch Universong, a television song competition reminiscent of Eurovision. As they watch, they feel disheartened by the uninspired Israeli entry, which is a satirical take on recent flashy and irritating songs about “love.” Noticing that Anat is upset due to troubles in her marriage, they decide to lift her spirits by writing a song. On a whim, they submit a cellphone video of their song to the following year’s contest, and it surprisingly becomes Israel’s official entry.
