In the year 2028, antibiotics have become ineffective, leading to a new health solution from a company called Lifeline. They offer a free health chip through the NHS, with an optional upgrade available for purchase that provides protection against a wider range of infections and diseases. However, due to limited computing and processing power, for someone to receive an upgrade, another person must die to transfer the necessary power. As a result, people are dying unexpectedly. Lifeline is set to release their second upgrade, which is anticipated to generate billions in revenue, supported by their political allies. Daniel Avery, who has lost his wife and daughter under these mysterious circumstances, is driven by haunting nightmares and flashbacks to investigate further. With the assistance of a rebellious group, he gradually uncovers a web of power and greed that extends to the highest levels.
