Jess, a recently divorced nurse and mother, relocates to her childhood farmhouse with her teenage daughter, Tyler, and her eight-year-old son, Owen. One evening, their dog detects something unusual in the forest and chases after it. A few days later, the dog comes back and viciously bites Owen before Jess can stop it.
