Before Dawn

After departing from his family’s sheep farm in the Australian outback, a young man enlists alongside his fellow countrymen on the western front during World War I, driven by the desire to hasten the conclusion of the devastating war. However, as the conflict intensifies, he must confront the harsh truths of trench warfare, including the relentless struggle for survival while ensuring no comrade is left behind. Drawing inspiration from the authentic diary entries of local ANZAC soldiers, this film portrays the lesser-known narrative of some of Australia’s most significant military triumphs.
