Bad River

The film “Bad River” highlights the persistent efforts of a Wisconsin tribe to safeguard Lake Superior for the coming generations. It delves into the enduring legacy of activism and defiance by the Bad River Band of Lake Superior Chippewa, particularly in their ongoing legal disputes with Enbridge Energy concerning the Line 5 oil pipeline. This pipeline has been running across 12 miles of the Band’s territory without valid easements for over ten years. Since 2019, the Band and the Canadian corporation have been embroiled in a legal conflict over this issue.
