Benny, a first-year student at the University of Akron in Ohio, encounters and develops feelings for another freshman, Christopher, during a football game. Encouraged by their families and friends, they begin a new romantic relationship. However, a past tragedy involving their mothers surfaces, posing a threat to their bond.
