Sons of Ben

After numerous speculations about an MLS team coming to Philadelphia failed to come true, a dedicated band of soccer enthusiasts decided to take action themselves. They formed a supporters group named the Sons of Ben with the aim of attracting a team to their city. Initially, they were fans without a team to cheer for, and they set a humble target of gathering 100 members by year’s end. Unexpectedly, they surpassed 1,500 members in a shorter period, sparking a movement that not only transformed Philadelphia’s soccer scene permanently but also played a role in revitalizing a community that had faced challenges for many years.
