The Blessing and the Curse

The filmmakers were given rare access to Itamar, a secluded Jewish settlement in the Northern West Bank, nestled between the Mountain of the Blessing and the Mountain of the Curse. On the night of March 11, 2011, two terrorists breached the community’s security fence, entered the Fogel family’s home while they slept, and savagely killed the parents and three of their children, including a three-month-old who was nearly decapitated. THE BLESSING AND THE CURSE delves into the aftermath of this tragedy, exploring how the memory of that horrific night continues to haunt the residents of Itamar, and raises the question: Why would anyone choose to raise their family in such a perilous location?
