Lesvia
Since the 1970s, lesbians globally have been attracted to the island of Lesvos, known as the birthplace of the ancient Greek poet Sappho. Upon discovering a haven in a nearby village, they establish a unique queer lesbian community, leading to rising tensions with the local inhabitants. Both groups assert their connection to lesbian identity, placing filmmaker Tzeli Hadjidimitriou—a local and a lesbian—in a challenging position. She documents over four decades of love, community, conflict, and the quest for acceptance.
