The Penitent Thief

“The Penitent Thief” delves into the lives of the two unnamed individuals crucified alongside Jesus, exploring the events that led them to share that momentous day with him. This sweeping narrative begins with the Magi’s journey and their serendipitous encounter with young Dismas and his brother Jotham at the Bethlehem manger. Shortly thereafter, the brothers endure a devastating tragedy, leading them to join a violent group of thieves. Within this band, they meet Gestas, another young man destined to share their fate. As they navigate their path to the cross, they strive to escape their inevitable destiny, all while contending with a vengeful Roman centurion. Throughout their journey, they repeatedly encounter Jesus and other significant biblical figures, yet they ultimately realize that there is no avoiding the grim fate that awaits them at Golgotha.
