In a sparsely populated region, Mexican families face displacement as Saxons arrive to colonize the area. Among those affected are the Iturraldes and the Villareals, two Mexican families whose tranquil lives are upended when they resist selling their ranches to the Mackenzies, an Irish family determined to acquire the land at any cost. The Mackenzies’ relentless pursuit is driven by the valuable oil reserves hidden beneath the vast and fertile terrain.
