Inspired to Ride

On June 7, 2014, a group of forty-five cyclists from across the globe embarked on the first-ever Trans Am Bike Race, tracing the legendary TransAmerica Trail. Their goal was to complete a massive 4,233-mile stage race, crossing ten states in a grand transcontinental journey. “Inspired To Ride” closely documents the experiences of a select few of these cyclists as they prepare for and participate in the race, enduring the challenge of cycling 300 miles daily with minimal sleep. They must depend entirely on their physical fitness, carefully selected equipment, and mental resilience to reach the finish line. Adding to the challenge, they will be entirely self-reliant—without support crews, follow vehicles, or prize money awaiting them at the end.
